NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.
Shares of Abbott India(up 2.3 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.93 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.92 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.36 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 1.18 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin(down 2.57 per cent), Laurus(down 1.58 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.01 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.86 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.83 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.31 per cent down at 12644.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 27.45 points at 17604.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 54.13 points at 59085.43.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 21 closed in the red.
Shares of , , Zomato Ltd., RBL Bank and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
, , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Veekayem Fashion & Apparels Ltd., , , and Sanofi India hit their fresh 52-week lows.
