Dow's 625-point surge highlighted by gains in shares of JPMorgan Chase, Dow

Led by positive momentum for shares of JPMorgan Chase and Dow, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is soaring Thursday afternoon. The Dow DJIA, +2.73% is trading 628 points, or 2.1%, higher, as shares of JPMorgan Chase JPM, +5.34% and Dow DOW, +5.55% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. JPMorgan Chase’s shares have climbed $5.79 (5.6%) while those of Dow are up $2.36, or 5.4%, combining for an approximately 54-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Chevron CVX, +4.93%, Walgreens Boots WBA, +5.82%, and McDonald’s MCD, +5.01%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark results in a 6.59-point swing.
