European markets show lighter gains catching up with the Wall Street

    France +0.16%  The French central bank says that the economy is likely to have grown by 0.1% in Q4 last year. 

  • ECB policymaker, Francois Villeroy de Galhau says will have to raise rates further in the coming months.

  • The pan-European Stoxx 600 +0.05% in early trade with sectors and major bourses showing a mixture of marginal gains and losses. Mining and retail stocks saw the largest uptick, while construction led minor losses.

    Coming up in the session:  No significant data expected today. Eyes set on US CPI to be out tomorrow.

  • In the bond market, The yield on US 10-year Treasuries was down about five basis point to 3.57%.

    Germany’s 10-year yield down about six basis point to 2.24%.

    Britain’s 10-year yield was down about eight basis point to 3.48%.
